AMD have finally unveiled the APU (Accelerated Processing Unit). The APU is a combination of both a CPU and a GPU integrated together. This is a massive step forward for AMD and the initial results look very promising indeed. We are talking about 18w total output for one of these beauties, that is a massive drop if you compare the power of a standard CPU, GPU, and Northbridge processors put together.
AMD APU's will certainly be the choice for the majority of netbook and thin notebook manufacturers in the near future, nothing else is like it on the market and it is a very cost effective and powerful combination.
